LOVE INDONESIA PHILATELY

APS President Is A Stamp Collector In The Purest Sense

Certainly one of philately's most personable individuals, John Hotchner takes great pleasure in helping collectors from all walks of life enjoy our hobby more. His friends often marvel at his ability to do many different things simultaneously. Read the story below to find out more about this unusual philatelic leader.

Known as a very serious philatelist (and helpmate to countless thousands of collectors over the years) it's sometimes hard to catch John Hotchner with a smile on his face.

But in recounting his incredible list of accomplishments in philately we hardly know where to begin. He's a man of many hats. While working in his career as Director of the State Dept's Passport Services planning and internal controls office, John not only serves as the APS' current president, but in years past he was the founder of the Errors, Freaks and Oddities Philatelic Society, cofounder of the American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors, and has served on the boards of countless stamp organizations, too.

Yes, John's a major leader in our hobby. But he also excels right at the top as one of the #1 experts in the world on 20th century U.S. stamps. He writes the lead column for Linn's Stamp News and serves as an expert for the American Philatelic Expertizing Service. We can thank our lucky stars that philately has a handful of great servants like John Hotchner.

If you would like to communicate with John in his role as president of the American Philatelic Society, just send him an E-Mail.
