Changes in Japanese Stamps Uniform (7/13)

(From 1912 to 1926)

Prices soared during the First World War. It was a difficult period during which the government, the economy and people's everyday lives were thrown into confusion. The postal service employees' uniform suffered in quality and many individual modifications started appearing as the uniform wore thin. There were no major official revisions between 1909 and 1922.
In 1915 wound leggings that were used by the army were approved for use in place of the Japanese-style leggings.

The badge on the collar was abolished in 1920 and replaced by a badge whose design featured the letters 'P' and 'O' from the word 'POST' crossed over one another.
The color of the PO badge was different depending on the type of work that the wearer was involved in.
